Keen to have a boudoir photoshoot in a hotel, here's what you need to know.

I have quite a few hotels up my sleeve when clients want something a bit different from their boudoir photo shoot.

I’ve spent a lot of time on websites finding the best boudoir locations in Auckland and other parts of New Zealand too. The benefit of using a different space just means a different look and mood for the photos. It’s also an opportunity for you to celebrate a night out/staycation in luxury.

I work in the Convent Hotel in Grey Lynn quite a bit (as seen in this blog post What is Bridal Boudoir?) – I like how unique some of the rooms are. This particular shoot had a beautiful patio which was great to use; it’s nice to be able to work with different backgrounds and have the indoor/outdoor flow.

To help with your plans I have compiled a list of my favourite hotels in Auckland.

My favourite Hotels in Auckland are:

1. The Park Hyatt

A bit on the pricey side, but is an amazing 5 star hotel – especially for a staycation! The day spa is exceptional and ‘Onemata’ is divine – a fine dining restaurant on the ground floor.

2. The Convent Hotel

Reasonably priced (although it is important to book in advance). There are specific rooms here to book so always speak to me first before booking to receive a discount too. There’s an amazing restaurant in the building called Ada, a must do! (Pets are allowed too). My favourite rooms are Mother Superior, Chapel Room and The Sacristy.

3. The QT hotel

Speak to me about the look of these rooms, as there are some examples on my website. The rooms are quite small, but work well with colour, and a great rooftop bar too!

4. Air bnbs

Lastly there are some amazing Air bnbs out there – as seen in this blog post- this was photographed in Wellington at a dreamy airbnb. Spend some time finding something unique with beautiful finishing touches, or reach out to Sarah she has a bunch!

Maybe get a friend to pitch in for the room and make it a girls night out, or you could both do a boudoir shoot separately? Or a staycation for just you and or your partner which is also a great idea for an anniversary surprise!
